Richard was a lovely man who had been devoted to St Mary's church and the band of bellringers for many years. We knew him for nearly 40 years, when we started as learners in the band and shared many memorable ringing occasions with Richard. He was a stalwart of the band, and a friendly welcoming face to newcomers and visitors. Richard will be a huge loss to many people, not least of all to the Hendon Ringers. May he rest in peace x.
